Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge at low tide

On my lunch break, we drove through the wildlife refuge on the island.  There was a fairly low tide and that's when you can usually see lots of birds.  No doubt we saw lots of great birds, but (sigh) I just really need a longer lens!  So, here are the pics that I took and I'm now convinced to go ahead and get a longer lens.   I could have gotten much better pics with one!  I really want to get a good close-up of a Roseate Spoonbill.  We did get to see a couple today, but just not very close.

The Roseate Spoonbill stands out in the crowd!

Great Egret, Cormorants, Ibis . . . oh my!

The Great Blue Heron is such a regal bird.

Another pic of the Roseate Spoonbill with an Ibis following.

Osprey standing in the foreground and Great Egret in the far background.

Another Great Blue Heron!

This Little Blue Heron was perched nearby!

He showed me how pretty his wings were and I agreed!
